HR is an Intriguing Field

Every job I've had for the past 8 years has required me to think, concentrate, or do something physically tiring. Working in a labratory, tutoring, playing in a quartet, MLK Papers Project, and even working at Express and our dining hall all required me to be productive. Thus, I've always been envious of the people at Stanford who sit at the gym and do homework while watching the card scanner or Jenny's job, where she's an Oral Communications Tutor from 9-11PM on Monday nights (where she's gotten about 5 people total after a few months of that time slot).

But, I finally have a job where I can get paid to sit on my ass, do my homework, and surf the internet. I'm an "assistant" for the Manzanita office, picking up hours here and there when the Resident Student Affairs Specialist, Michael G. is out of the office. Today was my first day and four people came in - 3 picked up packages that had been delivered to the office and a fourth I redirected to Monica M. next door because he wanted lofting materials. I did the Stanford Daily's crossword and did some reading for my thesis. As long as I can keep busy during this job, it should be a breeze.

Dammit

Letting Jenny post on my blog was a bad, bad, idea.

Down with dim sum at 1am!!!

Reid is going to order dim sum tonight.
I will turn away if he farts.
And then the commotions will start.

I need to...

...control my spending. This weekend, I purchased an iPod shuffle. I did need one, since my iPod had broken and buying a new battery for it would have been a little less than buying a new shuffle. But, coming up is dinner at Il Fornaio for Valentine's Day and Viennese Ball on Friday. I guess I'll have to win back all my money at Las Vegas this Spring Break.
